Shongololo Express Rovos Rail

Rovos Rail has been operating Shongololo Express since it has been acquired in 2016 offering the Southern Cross, Dune Express, and good Hope. This train service is gradually being integrated into the Rovos Rail portfolio. The Southern Cross and African Trilogy will remain as per schedule as a Rovos Rail product.

1. The African Collage and Good Hope will merge to become 11 nights. The running times have been tweaked with the addition of visits to the Kingdom of eSwatini, Golden Gate National Park, the picturesque town of Clarens and Bloemfontein, the city of roses.    2. The Namibia Safari and Dune Express journeys will merge to become 11 nights. The running times have been tweaked with the addition of a visit to Kolmanskop and Lüdertiz, known for its museum, architecture and coastal wildlife. Herewith the new Namibia Safari itineraries:

  Shongolo Express brand is now incorporated into the parent company as a Rovos Rail journey. Nothing has changed other than train upgrades and some name tweaks. Essentially Shongololo Express is now an improved product offering 5-star service.
