Shongololo Express: Incorporated into the Rovos Rail brand

Shongololo Express is now obsolete and all those popular routes have been upgraded by Rovos Rail along with the train. The Southern Cross and Dune Express routes have been retained, along with improved Rovos Rail itineraries.

Rovos has been operating Shongololo Express since 2016 offering the Southern Cross, Dune Express, and Good Hope. This train service is now fully integrated into the Rovos Rail portfolio. The trains have been upgraded to Rovos quality standards and former Shongololo itineraries have been improved. Pullman gold suites are also better configured with permanent beds.

The Southern Cross and African Trilogy will remain as per schedule as a Rovos Rail product.

The African Collage and Good Hope will merge to become 11 nights. The running times have been tweaked with the addition of visits to the Kingdom of eSwatini, Golden Gate National Park, the picturesque town of Clarens and Bloemfontein, the city of roses. Herewith the new African Collage itineraries:

2. The Namibia Safari and Dune Express journeys will merge to become 11 nights. The running times have been tweaked with the addition of a visit to Kolmanskop and Lüdertiz, known for its museum, architecture and coastal wildlife. Herewith the new Namibia Safari itineraries:

Shongololo Express brand is now fully incorporated into the parent company as a Rovos Rail experience. Nothing has changed other than train upgrades and some name route improvements to provide clients with a top luxury rail experience.
